Working primarily on unprimed canvas with mixed media, I embrace the rawness of the surface as an active participant in the work. I am drawn to abstraction because it allows me to explore the invisible processes of being human rather than describe outward events. Through layers of color, texture, and gesture, my paintings trace the quiet ways life settles into us and reshapes us.
In addition to my studio practice, I serve as the Art Director for the Cageless Birds Artist Collective. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education from Appalachian State University and teach college-aged students visual journaling, guiding them in using visual media as a tool for reflection, expression, and processing their lived experiences.

Grief is one of the few things every human life will know, though it rarely wears the same face twice. In The Quiet Folds of Color, I aimed to capture the many shapes my evolving internal landscape took in the wake of my father’s death.
